ASH WEDNESDAY IMPOSITION OF ASHES & WORSHIP SERVICE
Ash Wednesday is important and meaningful for all Christians as this day marks the beginning of the season of Lent: a 40-day period of discipline and prayer during which we prepare to encounter the joyful mysteries of Easter. On February 18, ashes will be imposed in front of the Sanctuary from 12-1 p.m., and prayer stations will be arranged in the Columbarium, located outside of the Sanctuary on State Street. All are invited to come remember who we are as mortals and as those who belong to Christ in life and in death.
Wednesday evening, all worshipers are invited to begin their worship in the prayer stations located in the Columbarium, before proceeding to the Ash Wednesday Sanctuary service at 5:30. The service will be livestreamed to our YouTube page.
DAILY PRAYER PRACTICES
Lent is a journey: a time for prayer, self-reflection, and sincerity, drawing ourselves closer to God. We have compiled a list of spiritual practices you can try for each day during Lent. We will join together as a community of faith and our SCAPC family, coming alongside each other in our individual journeys and joining together in our collective journey towards Easter. You don’t have to do them all, or on the dates listed, or feel worried if you get behind. We hope these practices can help you find time to pause and connect with God in a new way.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS: PASTOR-LED STUDY ON PAUL
Before Wednesday Night Out dinner each week, a pastor-led study takes place in the Phifer Library at 5:15 and all are welcome! We are examining Paul's Letter to the Romans. You do not need to attend every class to participate. Participating in this class is another spiritual practice that you can incorporate this Lenten season.
PALM SUNDAY, CHOIR & ORCHESTRA
During the 10:30 a.m. service on Palm Sunday, March 29, the SCAPC Chancel Choir and Orchestra will perform Mozart's Requiem. Composed while terminally ill at the age of 35, Mozart's masterpiece shifts between anguish and terror, desperation and resignation, pathos and restraint, and ultimately profound hope. All children will be invited to join in a palm procession at the beginning of the service.
