Hunger knows no season but for this season of Advent, we are asking you to help take the light of Christ out into the world by donating shelf stable foods. We are collecting food for Okra Abbey, which is one of our community ministry partners, located in the Pigeon Town neighborhood. We ask that you and your family think about ways in which you can donate together as a family, embracing our advent theme of “Generation to Generation”. We encourage you to gather as much as you can but if you need some suggestions, we’ve picked one suggested item per week on the theme of each advent candle and added a list of other much appreciated items.

Week of November 27: Hope

Please bring CANNED MEATS and FISH which provide transportable protein to those especially in need of nourishment and hope.

Week of December 4: Peace

Please bring SOUP, a complete and easy meal-in-one bringing comfort to those unsure whether their next meal will come.

Week of December 11: Joy

Please bring PEANUT BUTTER which is another important source of protein that can last quite a while, bringing joy to full bellies!

Week of December 18: Love

Please bring MAC & CHEESE...Who doesn't love boxed mac & cheese? It's a simple side that kids and grownups gobble up.

Through Christmas Eve

Please bring BABY FOOD. As we celebrate Jesus' birth, we remember other babies in need.
