Don Frampton has been Senior Pastor of SCAPC since 1994, the “fastest years of his life” as he often puts it. Before coming to New Orleans, he was Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham, NC, and before that, Associate Pastor at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC. A native of South Carolina, Don graduated from the University of S. C. and remains to this day, through thick and thin (mostly thin), an avid Gamecock fan. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga.
Active on the wider church level, Don is on the Board of Trustees of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Locally, he serves on several civic boards and is a member of two, post-Katrina seminar groups that include leaders in business and government.
Ask him what he likes best about his life and he’ll say his family. He and wife Colleen have three children, Harrison, Catherine and McCord, all of whom are in New Orleans either working or in school. He also loves being a minister, especially the joys and challenges of being a pastor and preacher. Finally, he loves to fish the fabulous waters of south Louisiana and play golf, but is quick to note that golf doesn’t always love him!
