BORDERLANDS IMMERSION EXPERIENCE TRIP

In partnership with the Presbyterian Borderlands Ministries, SCAPC organized a service and learning trip to the U.S./Mexico Border in the McAllen, Texas area in November 2024. We learned first-hand from those living and working along the border the complex dynamics of our southern border. We delivered 100 backpacks that had been assembled during SCAPC's Day of Service to an organization giving healthcare to migrants. We toured La Posada Providencia, a shelter for migrants who have no family to support them. We also brought fresh produce to Colonia, one of the many unincorporated communities in South Texas where many families live in poverty.
