MIRIAM HOLLAR has been a lifelong Presbyterian and an active member of St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church since 1988 when she moved to New Orleans from her native Michigan by way of a short stint in New York City. Immediately upon joining SCAPC, she was swept up in the life of the church. She has served many roles in the congregation ranging from Senior High Youth Leader to the Moderator of Presbyterian Women. Having spent years as an international trade attorney and community activist in the areas of both special needs and the arts, she felt a strong call to be in closer community with God and the Church. Three years ago, she completed the Certificate in Ministry at Austin Seminary that allowed her to become a Certified Ruling Elder under the auspices of the Presbytery of South Louisiana. She has also completed a certificate in spiritual formation at Columbia Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. She has been facilitating Spiritually Hungry Women since shortly after its inception. In addition, she is serving as a part time interim pastor for First Congregational Church of Gaylord in Michigan.
