Rev. David Garnett will serve as Interim Senior Pastor through August 29. Over the last decade, David has been an interim pastor in the Presbyterian Church (USA) for seven churches in Florida and North Carolina. Rev. Garnett has an MDiv from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA, and a BA from the University of Washington in Seattle.
He has been married to Molly for 34 years and they live in Etowah, NC, south of Asheville. Molly is a spiritual care manager at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville. They have two sons, Nathan, a financial advisor, who is married and lives nearby, and Sam, a church organist at John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Metairie, and piano teacher, who lives in Carrollton. Sam takes organ lessons from Steven Blackmon and comes daily to SCAPC to practice the organ. He used to sing in the SCAPC choir. Sam is married to Kelly Cuppett, who works and studies at Loyola University.
David and Molly are flower gardeners, attending regularly to the perennial flower garden that surrounds their house. They enjoy entertaining, reading, the arts, and occasional travel. David enjoys hiking in the nearby Pisgah National Forest with Nathan.
