The Social Thing: Oysters raw and cooked, bowling to live music, Old-fashioned at the Columns Hotel! We plan local events where good food, good conversation and good friends old and new show what "laissez les bontemps rouler" is all about.
Faith Forward: Not a bible study. Not a Sunday school class. A little theology, a little teaching, lots of discussion. Always dinner and childcare. We explore questions about faith in our city and our society. It's a place where both lifelong Christians and those new to faith and "the church thing" can interact and dig deeper into the issues.
Service: Along with global community ministries, SCAPC is committed to the ministry of RHINO, a SCAPC ministry that stands for Rebuilding Hope in New Orleans - very different from rebuilding Houses in New Orleans. This is a spiritual as well as social and economic justice endeavor, in which 20/30s are encouraged to participate. RHINO gives us some great chances to labor alongside Habitat staff, out-of-town volunteers and new homeowners to build relationships as we help build quality, colorful and affordable houses for folks who wouldn't normally get this chance.
